Just a few weeks after Molly Ivins died in January 2007, her Columbia Journalism School classmates gathered for their 40th reunion in New York and got to discussing what they might do to pay tribute to her memory.

We settled on a scholarship fund as the best way both to honor and extend Molly’s legacy.  Our aim is to raise a minimum endowment of $125,000, enough to support the studies of at least one aspiring journalist at Columbia each year. We have launched this web site to reach out beyond our class in honor of Molly.
